Image compression
Reduce JPEG, PNG and WebP file sizes while keeping their original format and pixel dimensions. Adjust quality, compare and download. Images stay in your browser.
Compress an image
Keep original dimensions and formatStatic JPEG, PNG or WebP. Maximum 20 MiB, 12 million pixels and 8,192 pixels on either side.
Images stay in your browser and are not uploaded.
Compression may change detail and color. Output uses web-friendly 8-bit sRGB and removes location, camera and text metadata while preserving viewing orientation. Original ICC profiles, print DPI and high bit depth are not retained.
Image compression requires JavaScript.
Compare before and after
Preview zoom does not change the downloaded image’s pixel dimensions.
How to use
Choose or drop one image, adjust quality, then select Compress and preview. Compare the original and result before downloading a separate copy. Every retry starts from the original.
Formats and limits
Static JPEG, PNG or WebP. Maximum 20 MiB, 12 million pixels and 8,192 pixels on either side.
Lower values usually mean smaller files with fewer details. This number is not the percentage of original quality retained.
Fewer colors may change gradients and translucent edges. Keeping all colors still converts color and removes metadata; it is not completely lossless.
The tool does not resize, crop or change formats. PNG and WebP transparency is preserved. At 100% preview, one image pixel equals one CSS pixel. Some images cannot be made smaller. Processing stops after 30 seconds. Animation, GIF, HEIC, AVIF, SVG and damaged files are unsupported. The browser must support background processing and encoding in the original format; there is no server fallback.

Data and privacy
Images and filenames are never sent to a server or analytics service. Keeping all colors is not completely lossless. If no result is produced, the original metadata remains unchanged.
