Text encoding and decoding
Encode or decode Unicode escapes, URL encoding, Base64, HTML entities and UTF-8 Hex. Text stays in your browser and is not automatically saved.
Encoding example中文😀\u4e2d\u6587\ud83d\ude00
Format details
Writes every UTF-16 code unit as \uXXXX, without surrounding quotes. Emoji use surrogate pairs. Other escapes such as \n or \u{...} are not interpreted.
Encoding example中 +%E4%B8%AD%20%2B
Format details
UTF-8 percent encoding for a single URL parameter value. Separators in a full URL are encoded too; decoding preserves + as a plus sign, not a space.
Encoding example中文5Lit5paH
Format details
Converts UTF-8 text to standard Base64 and back. Keep required = padding. Base64URL, data URLs and arbitrary binary data are unsupported. Base64 is not encryption.
Encoding example<中文><中文>
Format details
Encodes & < > double and single quotes as HTML entities. Decoding supports amp, lt, gt, quot, apos and numeric entities with semicolons. Other named entities are preserved; only one layer is decoded.
Encoding example中😀E4 B8 AD F0 9F 98 80
Format details
Converts text to UTF-8 hexadecimal bytes and back. Accepts continuous hex or complete bytes separated by spaces, tabs or line breaks; no 0x prefix.
Text conversion requires JavaScript.
Up to 100,000 UTF-16 code units (a typical Chinese character uses 1; emoji usually use 2). Text is not uploaded or automatically saved.
How to use
Choose a format, paste text, and select Encode or Decode. Conversion only runs when requested; the format is never guessed. Copy result writes to the clipboard only when selected; if unavailable, select and copy the result manually. Use as input lets you convert again. Editing input or changing formats clears the previous result. Clear keeps the chosen format.

Unicode decoding accepts plain text mixed with escapes and processes one layer only. Base64 decoding ignores spaces, tabs, CR and LF, but rejects invalid UTF-8 binary data. HTML entity names are case-sensitive and require semicolons: unsupported or incomplete entities such as © stay unchanged; < becomes the literal text <. This is not an HTML sanitizer. Hex accepts upper/lower case, rejects odd digits and invalid UTF-8, and requires complete bytes between whitespace separators.
Up to 100,000 UTF-16 code units (a typical Chinese character uses 1; emoji usually use 2). Text is not uploaded or automatically saved.
Data and privacy
Leading/trailing whitespace and Unicode normalization are preserved. Excess input is never truncated; an encoded result may exceed the input limit when reused. Invalid formats, incomplete surrogate pairs and invalid UTF-8 keep the input and produce no partial result. Results are displayed as text, never executed as HTML or scripts. Input and results are not placed in URLs, titles, logs or analytics. The clipboard is never read automatically. Declining analytics or third-party outages do not affect conversion. Browser form restoration and clipboard retention remain controlled by the browser.
